Remote Assistance Introduction

NOTE: please request assistance using the link above before running the remote assistance program.  Once you have been contacted by a support agent you will be able to successfully connect to a technician using remote assistance.  If you do not request assistance through the online support portal your remote assistance request may not be received.

Remote assistance allows our technicians to remotely control, diagnose, and fix your computer.  YOU CAN ACTUALLY WATCH AS THE TECHNICIAN CONTROLS YOUR MOUSE AND KEYBOARD.  The only pre-requisite is a fast Internet connection such as DSL or Cable Modem.  Please feel free to call, or submit a support request using the online support portal link above, if you have any questions about this service.

Remote assistance benefits both parties.  eSmith technicians can get more work done by spending less time traveling.  This in turn equates into lower operating costs which we pass on to you, the customer.

Instructions

To obtain immediate assistance once you have created a support request you will need to download the remhelp.exe file and either save it on your computer or run it.  You will be warned of a security risk which is normal for all Internet file downloads. 

When you run the download you will be prompted to input some information into the text box and click on start; please include your name, phone number, and a description of the problem.  If you have submitted a support request please include your trouble ticket number.  When you click start the information will be sent to a technician who will call you to set up payment and help you with your problem.

0-15 Minutes $24.95 (1 Incident)
16-30 Minutes $34.95 (Timed)
31-60 Minutes $64.95 (Timed)
After 1st Hour $16.24 (Per Quarter Hour)

  1. Click here to start the download.
  2. If you are using Internet Explorer you are asked whether to Save, Run or Open the files.
  3. Click on Open or Run.
  4. The download will take less than 1 minute over a broadband connection.
  5. If you are running Windows XP SP2 you may see a security warning from Internet Explorer similar to the screenshot below. Please click on Run.
  6. Input your contact information and problem description and press start.  If you have submitted a support request please include your trouble ticket number.
  7. You will be contacted when a technician becomes available.  You may also call for assistance before running the software.
